What Happened Recently

You might have noticed the downtime of my website a few days ago. I was actually trying to upgrade website components to newer releases. However, upgrade failed for some reason and i wasn't able to restore content and database backup quickly.

Although i had verified backups (lessons learned from early mistakes) i could restore it after a few attempts.

When a major release published i find it a bit difficult to upgrade from earlier releases of DotNetNuke. Maybe they should add test cases for Upgrades and they shouldn't make last minute changes on packages. This can be somewhat painful for new DotNetNuke users.

Currently i have to follow upgrade path again in order to apply things in my mind. I hope this time everything goes smoothly.

Please keep in mind to check DotNetNuke forums if you are willing to upgrade to DotNetNuke 5.
