I have been using various DotNetNuke Menu Navigation providers such as;

  • Default DNN Menu Navigation Provider (Solpart Menu)
  • House Menu
  • Snapsis CSS Navigation Menu Provider

So far, i am very impressed with Snapsis CSS Navigation Menu Provider, it has perfect features and it loads faster than any other ones that i included in this tutorial.

Starting with Solpart menu, i wasn't happy with the idea of menu structures.  Then i started to try House Menu.

Sometimes using third party DotNetNuke Skins may help you to meet new extensions to DNN such as Menu providers and skin objects.

House menu was completely disappointment for me. After unpleasent history with Solpart menu, i thought it was better process to go with House Menu. Unfortunately, HouseMenu was not working with Turkish Locale.

I wonder what goes wrong with Turkish Locale. I have interesting memories about problems when Turkish Locale used on my dnn portals. As most active Turkish Localizator of DNN, i am very sure that i do things correctly, but some developers are aware of problems with specific Turkish chars.

My latest menu choice is Snapsis Menu Navigation Provider. It has good features, and templated interface helps you customize layout.

In my experience period, i have noticed that menu may not work correctly, if you are using other locales than default English locale.

To fix issues, you may visit template file and look for I and i chars. My problems with Turkish locale fixed after replacing i chars with I.

I have still some issues with Snapsis Menu and we are working together with John Mitchel - the developer of Snapsis products;  but so far, it is the best DNN Menu i have used.

Note that, these are my own thoughts.

I will blog about a complete review of Snapsis Menu soon.
